Matt Serletic has parlayed his life-long passion for music into a multi-faceted career as a songwriter, producer, label owner, and technology entrepreneur, as well as a Grammy, ASCAP, and CMA Award-winner. The Georgia native’s musical chops, finely tuned ear, and nurturing attitude toward artists have made him one of the industry’s most successful executives. In the country arena, Serletic has worked with Willie Nelson, Lee Ann Womack, Alison Krauss, The Band Perry, and breakout young country band Gloriana, whom Serletic discovered and signed to his label, Emblem Music Group.

Serletic is also well-known in the pop and rock worlds for delivering global smashes and enduring career milestones for Carlos Santana (“Smooth”), Aerosmith (“I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”), Rob Thomas (“Lonely No More”), Matchbox Twenty (“Push,” “3am,” “Unwell”), and Edwin McCain (“I’ll Be”). Most recently, his production of Cher’s “You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me,” for the film Burlesque, won a 2011 Golden Globe Award for “Best Original Song.” To date, Serletic’s productions have sold more than 110 million albums. Serletic is also a former chairman and CEO of Virgin Records, where he signed and helped break such acts as KT Tunstall, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Gorillaz. In 2007, Serletic co-founded the entertainment and technology company Music Mastermind, Inc., which is dedicated to enabling anyone to create studio-quality music.

Serletic has now brought his talents to CMT’s Next Superstar, which premieres in April on the CMT network. Executive produced by Simon Lythgoe and Nigel Lythgoe (American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance), the weekly competition series finds Serletic offering his expert advice and tutelage to 10 undiscovered country singer-songwriters who are duking out to be the next great superstar. Serletic also recently produced upcoming albums for Gloriana (whose self-titled debut bowed at No. 3 on the Top 200 Albums chart) and former American Idol winner and platinum-selling recording artist David Cook.
