TRACK SOARS TO NO. 1 ON BILLBOARD HOT 100

February 12, 2009 — Santa Monica, CA — As the song says: “The platinum trio is back.” “Crack A Bottle,” the new single from multi-platinum hip-hop superstars Eminem, Dr. Dre, and 50 Cent, has set a Nielsen Soundscan record for opening week download sales by selling 418,000 digital tracks in its first week of release on iTunes.

“Crack a Bottle,” which reunites Eminem with his long-time collaborator Dr. Dre and colleague 50 Cent, sends the trio to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — the second Hot 100 smash for both Eminem and Dr. Dre, and fourth for 50 Cent. “Crack A Bottle” is currently No. 1 on iTunes’ Top Songs chart. In its review, Billboard said: “Eminem’s skills remain some of the best in hip-hop, and the accompanying contributions make the music that much stronger.”

Eminem (b. Marshall Mathers), Dr. Dre (b. Andre Young), and 50 Cent (b. Curtis Jackson), who last collaborated on 2005’s “Encore,” each have upcoming albums due from Interscope Records. Eminem is working with Dr. Dre on Relapse, his first album since 2004’s 4x-platinum Encore. Dr. Dre is working on Detox, his first solo album since the 6x-platinum 2001, and 50 Cent is working on Before I Self Destruct, his first album since 2007’s Curtis.
